We were honoured to attend tonight’s #YomHazikaron ceremony at the Kotel. We heard stories of courage & loss that confirmed: #Israel’s each & every victory comes at a cost. We honour the memory of the lost men & women. We remember their sacrifices on behalf of us all.

Today started with a Yad Vashem visit following 2 minutes of silence for Israel’s fallen & terror victims. However, as the sun set, grief turned to joy & we were privileged to attend the official #YomHaatzmaut celebrations on Mt. Herzl. Mazel tov to #Israel on its first 75 years!

Pomp, pageantry & so much pride - always aware #Israel’s 75 years of success comes at a cost. Rabbi Dee’s dignified presence made that clear. We looked on proudly as military man & Beit Halochem member Avigdor Kahalani lit the night’s first torch. #YomHaatzmaut #Israelat75

AdinaZ 🇺🇸🇮🇱🤌🏼 🪬⚖️ I am!! We were here with a Beit Halochem Canada mission. It was an incredible week - seeing much of the country and meeting the men and women injured while defending her. We can’t thank them enough for their sacrifices - of both body and soul.

Our Yom Ha’atzmaut Mission ended among Heroes. At the site of Valley of Tears, we heard of the Yom Kippur War from #BeitHalochem members Avigdor Kahalani, whose actions helped turn the war around & Amnon Sharon who was a Syrian POW. They broke his body, but not his spirit.

Last Friday, we enjoyed Shabbat dinner with newfound friends & Heroes, including Surin Hershko, the one soldier seriously injured during #Entebbe. This week, we wish you a peaceful #ShabbatShalom as we share some images from our magical Mission in #Israel. #BeitHalochem #ZDVO
