Barrow yesterday. Was absolutely packed and took a while to get around. Good targets though, with two absolutely whopping crossers amongst them. 14 away half way around, dug in for the second half and only dropped 5 more to finish on 81. Best score at Barrow, I was a happy bunny.

Facebook has just reminded me that today is the 10th anniversary of my first time ever pulling a trigger on a shotgun. Little did my best mate know how much time, money and effort she'd end up costing me by buying me a clay shooting experience as a birthday gift!

Odd shoot today at Churchills, dominated by lowish quartering orange targets. Using swing through on these has certainly helped, but I'm still not 100% confident with them. 80 was reasonable. Last Reg shoot for me for a While, gun dropped in at MGS for my new stock to be made.

With my o/u at the gunsmiths, the semi-auto has come out of the cabinet. Yesterday struggled with it, just felt uncomfortable. Tweak to the cast using the adjustable and was much better today, stopped rolling my head over the comb. Pleased with 81 at the local club competition.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been taken off the air for calling Steve Baker a c**t , not realising it had been recorded. He apologised immediately. Steve Baker has helped to bring the country it’s it’s knees and has never apologised RT if you think Krishnan should be reinstated

Adolf is nearly ready! 2nd fit today and my finger reaches the trigger. Adjustable comb to be fitted, chequering and oil finish. Should have him back in a fortnight. Can't wait, testing today felt so much better than the semi-auto I've been shooting.

New stock finished. Really happy with the fit. 160 cartridges and no sign of a trigger flinch yet. Looking forward to getting comfortable with it over the winter in advance of the competition season.

Did S-sporting at EJC just before xmas as my 1st comp with the new stock. Was awful, hanging on to everything. Lots of practice over xmas break, getting my confidence back in sight pictures. Paid off today at the local open shoot. 92, a comp PB and missed out on high gun by 2.

Sportrap for the 2nd time ever yesterday at AGL. Not a great day, but enjoyed most of it, except the last layout. No birds and a heavy shower made it hard work. 67. Back to my comfort zone today, ESP at Willow Farm. Really wind affected but good targets and sunny for once. 81.

Had a five month break from Reg comps, while new stock was being made and got out of the habit of tweeting when I started back. Time to get back to it. EJC on Thursday, good start, good finish, wobbly middle. Was hitting the bigger targets well, struggled with rls. 76.

Kibworth yesterday. Shot the first 8 stands well and was happy until Stand 9. Target dropping off a high bank into a valley below my feet did for me there. Then wobbled the rest of the way around, trying too hard not to miss resulting in measuring lead and a slow gun. 72.

Redricks for the England team selection shoot yesterday. Mostly managed my r to l woes apart from a low quartering away on Stand 3. Let myself down on the sim teals on 9, attacked the first pair but slowed my gun on the rest. Hit the distant stuff well. 72 again.

Barrow today. Felt happier about my shooting today, some silly mistakes, but shooting more confidently and straighted several right to left targets. Only one I couldn't find was a quartering away rabbit from the right, I was probably in front. V happy with stand 12 2nd target. 77

5th of 5 on the trot, High Lodge. I thought I was shooting myself out of my doldrums but todays score doesn't look like it. However, it's deceptive as it was a relentlessly tough set of targets and I was actually feeling that I was shooting quite well. 69 was about middle of A.

Had to say goodbye to my best friend this morning. Rest well Min, you may have been a small dog but you've left a huge hole in my heart.

Not been posting much about my shooting, had a long run of poor form. But they say success breeds success & the last 3 shoots prove that. Good day @ EJC for an 82. Coleys ladies competition on Saturday and my highest comp score ever, 93. Local open shoot today 85 & a ladies win.
