Yes, an illness or disability forces someone to be resilient, but that doesn't mean they should always be expected to act that way, to never talk about the reality or struggle at times. Because the resilience is not a choice, it's a survival mechanism and it's an exhausting one.

The thing about a “return to normalcy” is that normal sucked balls. Covid exposed all the cracks and fissures in our society that were always there. It seems the folks who crave normalcy want to cover up those cracks and go back to pretending they’re not. It’s infuriating.
