Carl Hindy, Ph.D. This reads like selective framing to me. In practice, patients don’t come in tidy categories. Most have comorbidities, layered treatments, polypharmacy. That’s the rule. Even the strongest data for SSRIs (once you strip away publication bias) is modest at best. GPs handing

Some of the loudest SSRI apologists don’t even prescribe them. I wouldn’t critique a bridge without foundational knowledge in engineering. Yet somehow people with no grounding in pharmacology feel confident dismissing others’ suffering. Sad.

Dr. Roger McFillin What about those who prescribe benzodiazepines to treat anxiety caused by ADHD treatment with stimulants? (What about those who prescribe benzodiazepines to treat anxiety from stimulants, which were themselves used to counter sedation from an antipsychotic?)

Based psychiatry is the future. A friend was complaining to me that every therapist he finds is shaped by the same liberal worldview. Victim mentality, pathologizing normal distress, external locus of control. High agency individuals cant connect to this.

Modern loneliness is born from devices being too entertaining imo. In 1960, staying home was boring. A book, radio, maybe one TV show. So people went out, because almost any company was better than none. Today, every form of entertainment exists at your fingertips. Standards

I tried therapy. I hated it. Everything in my life was a problem that had to be "unpacked". The things I actually wanted help with got put on the back burner. Eventually *I* got tired of her blaming everyone else. It was almost like she thought it was what I wanted to hear

Sports have been almost the most consistent and important aspect of my life. As a child I played soccer, basketball, tennis. As a teenager/early adult I wrestled and did olympic weightlifting. After starting to work I ran marathons and did triathlons. I couldn’t imagine

Soft, elastic fascia is the single most aspect in performance. Ever since I started training my fascia as opposed to training muscle my athletic performance has grown and my injuries have decreased.

I’m starting to think there should be an outright ban on prescribing psychotropics to children under a certain age (except through a commission, like the one for granting palliative status). If multiple specialists agree, fine. But we need to stop GPs from mass prescribing
