Following yesterday’s appointment, this week we warmly welcomed Dr Jackie McDermott who is a very experienced gynae path consultant with a research and education background! We are so lucky to have her at Barts Health ( and she is enjoying commuting by river from Putney!)

So sorry to say goodbye to our rock, the amazing gynae pathologist and ex -TPD, Asma Faruqi, who after holding the department together especially last year is now retiring. we will miss you so much! 😘😘💔

Admin roles are essential to run our services. Pathology administrators and secretaries do a tremendous job and we would be lost and unable to function without them. The knee jerk response of ‘less admin’ will make doctors and BMS staff have to divert their skills needlessly.

Huge congratulations to Ben Challoner, Justine Durno, and donuts_85 who all passed the FRCpath part 2 exam today. They have all had very different journeys into and through pathology and had other hurdles, but we are so proud of all of you!!
