In spite of team members tasting some success in 2016 and confounding those that said “Bartlett does not have the right kind of students to compete in cross country”, the following year would present the most significant challenges.

In 2017, Bartlett would be moved into a Region with the best teams in Memphis. In addition, the combination of the ongoing commitment being asked of team members and the negative influence from outside coaches would prove to be a huge test of the team’s direction that year.
