Really enjoyed #TheAftermath - a study of the damage we do to each other and the many layers of forgiveness needed. Very much looking forward to chatting with Rhidian Brook about our stories at Barnes Literary Society on 15th May!

Great news! The novel is not “absolutely doomed”. Fabulous evening on Wednesday with Professor John Mullan challenging Will Self’s assertion. We loved John’s argument plus his quiz on Jane Austen’s Emma. He reminded us what a super book that is!

Just before a long car journey, recently, I grabbed some random CDs to keep me company and ended up listening to Damien Rice's 'O' for 4 hours. I'd forgotten how blisteringly brilliant it is ... and yet I could remember EVERY SINGLE WORD.

Rhidian Brook and Tor Udall are in conversation at the OSO Arts Centre #Barnes tonight talking about The Killing of Butterfly Joe and A Thousand Paper Birds. It promises to be a wonderful evening!

2 years after A Thousand Paper Birds was published, I did my final event last night and it was one of my favourites. A full theatre, beautifully hosted by Barnes Literary Society. The love for ATPB in the signing queue was overwhelming. Thanks to Jo, Rhidian Brook & everyone who came📚

Oh, and I got to wear my first 'madonna' mic. I resisted the urge to start vogueing ... but the tech was GREAT! 💃🏻🙌🏼
