Grandparent’s Day Last Thursday we were delighted to welcome our grandparents back to school ! We would like to thank Fr. Beirne for a very meaningful prayer service and to all who provided refreshments afterwards.

Valentine’s Day This year we decided to break hearts instead of making them !!! The Senior Room dissected sheep hearts as part of a science lesson.

World Book Day 2024 Last Thursday we celebrated WorldBookDayIE. Pupils dressed up as characters from their favourite books and told us all about them both orally and in written form. The seniors also took on the World Book Day Quiz!!

Gymnastics On Saturday last, Laoise competed in a National competition at the Gymnastics Ireland Arena. She came second Nationally Overall in the Women’s Artistic O12 Level 2 event. Well done Laoise, we are all very proud of this achievement!👏

All-Ireland Fever!! Best wishes to Coláiste Mhuire in the All-Ireland Hurling Final this Friday in Tulla. A particular shout out to past pupils Gavin Meares, Michael Dunning and Seán Scott. Let’s hope the lads bring home the silverware!! 🙏

Eason’s Spelling Bee Well done to Aoife Fynes who represented our school today at the County Final of the Eason Spelling Bee Competition.

Community Games Congratulations and well done to Moya and Laoise Fynes who are through to the National Community Games Finals in Kilkenny in the Gymnastics section. 👏👏

Connacht Final Girls - FAI Primary 5s Well done to our girls on making yesterday’s Connacht Final in Castlebar. While we didn’t make it to the next day, the girls played very well and gave it their best. To get to a Connacht Final was no easy task.

Cumann na mBunscol - Camogie County Final Huge congratulations to our girls who won the County A Final yesterday evening in Lisnamult to a strong St. Coman’s Wood team.

Minor Schools Swimming Championships Best wishes to sixth class pupil, Faye Kelly, who is representing our school in the Leisure Complex at Lough Lannagh, Castlebar today in the 50m freestyle and 100 IM.
