As part of their DT learning, Y5 children have been tasting a range of healthy pizza toppings. They discussed the food and described the textures, smells and tastes. Eat Smart Sheffield



As part of their DT learning, Y5 children designed and made their own healthy pizzas. They enjoyed kneading the dough, chopping the ingredients, weighing the ingredients and most of all eating their delicious creations! Eat Smart Sheffield


One of our amazing Y4 children has been selected as a gold winner in the city wide 2025 Windrush Poetry Competition. She has been invited to join the Lord Mayor at an event to Celebrate the Anniversary of Windrush at Sheffield Town Hall. Daughter of Freedom Learn Sheffield


In Y5 Science, children have been learning about asexual reproduction in plants E.g. potatoes can reproduce asexually by growing roots and shoots from their "eyes" which develop into new potato plants. They are looking forward to seeing their results! Eat Smart Sheffield



Y5 held a special parental engagement afternoon. Children shared their writing based on Beowulf with some persuasive battle speeches. The children also shared their music learning by singing a selection of songs. Sheffield Music Hub


To celebrate walking and wheeling to school, we held a special active travel breakfast. Children who walked, cycled or scooted to school were treated to a healthy breakfast and a meeting with a special clean air mascot.Team Modeshift South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Forge SSP


As part of our commitment to physical activity, a group of Y6 children have made a 5 minute walking zone around school. The children were very excited to hear that Ballifield have been awarded the SILVER Food For Life award for all our work on promoting healthy eating within school and creating a positive culture around food. Food for Life Eat Smart Sheffield


This afternoon, our Junior Road Safety Officers met representatives from the council to discuss good and bad parking outside of school. They created posters and tickets to promote good parking and to encourage active travel where possible SCC Active Travel STARS South Yorkshire


Y4C have safely arrived at Thornbridge and are straight into their activities Thornbridge Outdoors


After a good nights sleep Y4C are raring to go for their next day of activities at Thornbridge Thornbridge Outdoors

Y4C are all packed up and out of the farm house ready for Y4S to take over. On to their final activities before heading home. They had another good nights sleep and are raring to go. Thornbridge Outdoors


Y4S are having a great time at Thornbridge. We've been so busy enjoying ourselves we forgot to post a picture. They are all raring to go for their afternoon activity of either exploring the mines or completing the Thornbridge challenge. Thornbridge Outdoors

We had a special visit from Councillor Ben Miskell to discuss active travel and pollution around school. He was interviewed by Y5 children about the benefits of active travel. This was followed by an energetic assembly about pollution Team Modeshift Cllr Ben Miskell
