I am looking for a Ph.D. Student to start in January at UF IFAS Wildlife working on PVA models for sparse data to support listing decisions under the ESA. Please apply or spread the word! wfscjobs.tamu.edu/jobs/ph-d-stud…

Are you interested in species invasions and ecological modeling? We have a NSF-funded postdoc position to study species invasions by applying statistical modeling to data collected by NEON. DM or email me if have questions. Please RT / apply! Thanks! lsu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/LSU/job/0437-L…

Thrilled sharing our paper has been selected in Research Highlights From 2022 (Ecology) by Springer Nature. It inspires me a LOT! Much appreciated to every contributor! springernature.com/gp/researchers…

Loved to see some of my favorite Herpetology students shine in the Herp portion of the UF IFAS Wildlife field techniques. Always so much fun to guest lecture this trip! Thanks Matt Hallett and Dr. Romagosa, and all the lovely TAs for having me again!

If you are interested in doing a postdoc in species invasions in urban areas, check the sGUBIK project (idiv.de/en/sgubik.html) and get in touch to discuss about submitting an application! We have a great team with @urban_sci Baiser Lab et al.

Great work led by Isadora Fluck in collaboration with @record_lab, @StreckerScience , and @PLZarnetske The influence of sample size and sampling design on estimating population‐level intra specific trait variation (ITV) along environmental gradients onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…

2/2 Benjamin Baiser Baiser Lab (also #sGubik member) in the iDiv Biodiversity Research seminar on succession in food webs of a pitcher plant. Very cool system, field work & analyses😍 Side story: I reviewed & signed one of his early & great homogenization papers & he liked my review a lot😍

Check out another cool new paper led by postdoc Grace Cagle in GEB Journal, where she examined microbes within the pitcher plant system and uncovered unique ecological processes governing the community assembly of distinct microbial guilds. U.S. National Science Foundation-funded onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Can AI help us identify beetle species and save countless hours of counting? BeetlePalooza 2024, hosted by Imageomics Institute, brought together diverse scientists to explore AI tools for beetle identification and measurement. New NEON blog: buff.ly/3Yi3OA0
