When rent is $2,000 for a one bedroom and gas is $6 a gallon and every trip to the grocery store costs too much it’s a good time to realize that we could have a world where it doesn’t cost money just to survive

This is nuts. Lyons, CO: everyone's wearing a mask. Loveland, CO: nobody's wearing a mask. These cities are <30 miles apart. Unless something changed in CO literally last night/this morning.

Ask not what your president can do to bring down the price of gas. Ask what your mayor can do to make it possible to get around without a car.

My wife just said "if you hate everyone, you should eat something, and if you think everyone hates you, you should go to sleep" and I don't think I've heard a better life hack

They’re dead. That’s where they went. All these people who had to work through the worst of it. They died. One million people died and we’re confused about a labor shortage.

Yes, you can wear an N95 and still get COVID, especially with BA.5. But that doesn't mean masks don't work. You can also die in a car crash wearing a seat belt, but that doesn't mean seat belts don't work. Masks reduce the odds of infection. Be probabilistic, not fatalistic.

Shoutout to all the schools that happily ask all their students to avoid peanut butter to protect that one kid with a nut allergy, but know asking those same students to wear masks to protect the entire school population from a potentially debilitating virus is just crazy talk.

The Matrix described 1999 as the peak of human civilization and I laughed because that would obviously not age well but then the next 23 years happened and now I’m like yeah okay maybe the machines had a point

This week, Chile announced a proposed new constitution written by a democratically elected convention, and it is likely the most legitimate constitution in the world, as it is written boldly in the context of the climate crisis. A 🧵on its inspiring climate provisions.
