When you here yourself saying to your kids, “you’ll need to put yourself to bed tonight because I’m working”… it’s time to make changes

Am really enjoying applying coaching to other sports. 🏉 🏀 🏑 Genuine focus on facilitating development opportunities rather than past experience of game and using strengths of others. RussellEarnshaw Back in 2019 this full move to coaching was scarey. #LoveWhatIDo!

Mix of Pride& Disappointment: Pride: our U15s had a tough away game, played some great rugby, kept discipline when faced with behaviours outside the core values of rugby. Disappointment: we were unable to congratulate oppo on their win as they didn’t attend match tea. #CoreValues

Marking coursework- netball session - pupil’s objectives for lesson: ensure all feel confident receiving and passing ball, vary types of passing. Ensure they feel comfortable to shoot. Nothing about being good at anything, all about being comfortable to try. #HowWeDevelop

#NewProfilePic Still of my favourite photos of me. Probably the most content and happy I’ve been in a long time. While I miss some of these moments, I am looking forward to many new ones! I’m sure it won’t be too long before the next moment is captured💪 #Reflections

Interesting language choice in commentary Saracens Women v Bristol Bears Women 🐻 - “We need to win the scrum and play THE play”. As coaches we we script to the specific of play THE play? Or is coaching a range of plays - player choose which one to use - better? #decisionmaking #rugby

Working through a project and can’t wait to see the outcome! Developing rugby skills in stages - I wanted to write PASS all the way down the right hand side of pic 1 but ran out of room. ‘What Good Looks Like’ - Videos coming 💪🏉 #CoachTheToolBox #Rugby #EnablingDecisionMakers

Will you chip in to help my team raise much-needed funds for men's health this #Movember? Together we can stop men dying too young. movember.com/t/mayville-hig…

Great question posed by Joe Cole here. Are today’s players empowered to make in game decisions? I’ve always ensured I include decision making in coaching plans. Does the ethos of “it’s their game” still apply once you hit the prem? Wouldn’t the game be amazing if it did!
