Morning Mike, love some of the ads that got their point over via a comic strip, although sometimes you had to search quite hard to find out what was actually advertised.

#SummerVibes #Holiday Here’s a couple of Punch Magazine Summer covers from the mid 1920’s by the prolific cartoonist Frank Reynolds. Showing that back a hundred years ago the weather could be pretty similar like today’s,I don’t think it was called global warming then just hot.

I’ve recently bought a couple of bound Punch from the 1920’s and your right they’re beautifully presented. There’s lots of Punch on EBay much of it reasonably priced. Best bargain full year 52 from 1953 paid about paid about £20.

OK fillet and hipbone steak very expensive 6/6d. Don’t know if it was just a Midlands thing back then the cut Ribeye didn’t exist as such.

I often wondered as a lad growing up in the 1950’s going to school in the day and back home at night what going to a boarding school was like,a lot of my books were about Bunter and Jennings and boarding school adventures and japes.

bill breakwell After I passed my 11+ I went to one of the new Technical schools.⬇️ No running indoors and we had to wear plimsolls to protect the new parquet floors. Different times Bill. Brand new, the way forward. 😊
