Indians in grad school describing their hometown to white girls and it’s just Kanpur

Today marks the 25th anniversary of India's first Pride March which took place in Kolkata. In 1999 when the US declared June as the Pride Month, back here in India on July 2nd fifteen queer individuals from a few different cities gathered together wearing bright yellow tshirts.

What radicalized me? When I invited my elementary school music teacher to my Black Pentecostal church to hear me sing in the children’s choir and returned to school to her teaching the class our songs with slightly different lyrics. I was BLOWN. 😭
