On auspicious day of Basant Panchami/ Saraswati Puja, today we inaugurate Pediatric Oncology ward ( 6 bedded), Hematology/ hematolymphoid ward ( 6 bedded) and Solid tumor ( 10 bedded) in AIIMS Patna. We also open from today all general ward admissions as in pre COVID times.

Greetings I have left AIIMS Patna and starting my new venture/ set up in Patna, named as Aaddhya's Oncology Centre. where I will be serving as Director Oncology/Consultant Medical Oncology and Hemato Oncology. Looking forward for your wishes, support, help, advise and guidance.

Met a husband, his wife has been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. When I told him the chance of survival, he couldn't hold himself. His welled eyes spoke further....one of his daughter has cerebral palsy and the other one is just a year old. Lockdown delayed the diagnosis.

They wished their patient had COVID !! She had metastatic lung cancer progression on 2 lines of therapy. CT florid new metastasis. PS 4 . Bedridden. They did RTPCR; -ve COVID. For them COVID +ve would have sound more hope, more time, for their loved ones than cancer!

We have used steroids in thousands of lymphomas/leukemias, many went to achieve cure. Number of mucormycosis can be counted on fingertips, ❌exceeding double digits (including diabetics). My stupid naive brain fails to decipher the missing link around steroid,covid and mucor?

Why Loss of each patient hurts so much ? The grief is compounded & hammered deep in the psyche, especially if he was young, dynamic, doing well with treatment,and then.. suddenly worsens and succumbs to illness/ cancer/sepsis. You know you did your best, but it wasn't enough!

Can you please help me find good open access, oncology/hemato-oncology journals ( apart from Indian ones, which I really love like Ind J Med Ped Oncology Cancer Research, Statistics and Treatment ,) WITHOUT pay-walls! Note: sci-hub isn't working !! And I am no longer attached to academic libraries for free access.
