Today sees the start of the "Salon international de l'aéronautique et de l'espace", also known as the "Paris Air Show", one of the world's most famous aviation events, but also the oldest in the world, first held in 1908. I can't wait for the weekend.... 🤩

The Paris Air Show has been around for 117 years. Here is a photo from the 1909 edition, showing an Antoinette monoplane in front of a replica of the Montgolfier brothers' hot-air balloon, the first object to enable mankind to fly.
