Really thoughtful piece from Mary Jirmanus Saba on what images of revolutionary moments do and not capture, their absences/value in/as archives, and, to me, the always critical willingness to articulate ambiguity. (as aside: has me grateful again for the SCL for those who work in LA)

UK folks: recommended readings on the history of the Cooperative Societies / Co-Op group? I am particularly interested in the eventual selling off of the co-operative farms, but also the legacy of the grand buildings around Newcastle.

"I am always appalled at some of the work done in geography. In many cases it is bad descriptive economics. I do not deny that economists do bad geography, but a compromise is badly needed.” - Harold Innis, in letter to Isaiah Bowman, 1929

Transit/Urban Planning folks: is there a reason why bus stops would be disproportionately placed in front of gas stations? Am I imagining this?

friends and strangers, one of the most creative people I know has released a remarkable labor of love today -- there's not enough space to describe the whole concept here, but if you like games, this is gonna be a fun one (or, actually 50) with retro style but new game dynamics
