The emotional core of "The Green Death" was the arc about how The Doctor and Jo were slowly drifting apart. It had a good payoff as we saw how mature and independent Jo's become since she first appeared. Her exit is emotionally subtle in a way not a lot of modern exits are, imo

Looking back I’m so glad I watched The Acolyte after it all wrapped up and binged the whole thing at once. If I hadn’t I most likely would’ve been drawn into the whole Star Wars fanbase war people had over it, either failing into the “it’s the best” or “utter dogshit” camps?

If I’m being honest. The only compelling thing in this scene is the combat. It’s not even like the SWTOR cinematics where it’s got hype moments and aura with cool character bits sprinkled in. It’s just… fighting and killing. Cool fighting and killing but *just* that?
