What methods are actually working for restoring stream valley wetland nature? We assess #rewetting, #nutrient status, #grazing and more and show that naturally nutrient poor soils is probably core to #restoration success. Thx to Aage V. Does your (EU) country attract or lose top researchers? AT, CH attract a lot. FR, DE, BE, ES are open places: as many leave as arrive. IE is a closed system. Italy, there is something very wrong: *very* few come, many go. Plot made with European Research Council (ERC) data.

#SEFS13, #biogeochemistry and #GHG go together! Thinking about submitting an abstract to #SEFS13? Pls check out the regular sessions as well. Benjamin Misteli and I will chair RS02 on āBiogeochemical processes and GHG emissions in inland watersā Go here: sefs13.com/call-for-abstrā¦

Today Chiara Esposito successfully defended her PhD on greenhouse gas emissions from ponds and shallow lakes. Well done Chiara! itās been a pleasure to co-supervise you!
