🍁🎉 Fall Festival Fun at Atkinson Academy! 🎉🍁 Saturday, October 18th was such an amazing day at Atkinson Academy. Families enjoyed raffles, games, a bounce house, tasty treats, a pumpkin contest and so much fall fun together.

Atkinson Academy's 3-year-old Preschool and 4-year-old Pre-K classrooms enjoyed time together with their Caring Adults building and decorating Gingerbread Houses this Friday. Thank you to all of the Caring Adults that attended and made this event a big success. Happy Holidays!

Atkinson 4th Graders had Biography Book Tastings in the Library in early January, in preparation for their class biography projects. A Book Tasting allows students to 'sample/taste' a variety of books before choosing one for their work.

Atkinson Academy Grade 5 Book Club meeting during the students' lunch and recess time. This program is supported by Atkinson Academy Librarian Jennifer Toth, and Kimball Library Librarian Kathy Watson.

Atkinson Academy Winter Concert - January 13, 2026 Congratulations to all of our young Atkinson musicians. Thanks to the staff and families for their support in making this wonderful concert happen!

Students from Mrs. Koener's Grade 2 Class opening their letters from Marines stationed at Miramar in San Diego (including Mrs. Koener's son). All 70 Grade 2 students received letters after they had sent Veteran's Day letters to them. They all Zoomed with the Marines in December.

Atkinson Academy Unified Arts Teachers are currently working with the Second Grade to integrate tree journal themes. Students are learning to identify evergreen boughs and draw their characteristic from observation.

At Atkinson Academy, Mrs. Butts' First Graders enjoyed having a visit from Mrs. Shawley's Third Graders, who earned the opportunity to read books aloud to a classroom.

The Brain Scientists of Atkinson Academy 4th grade have been hard at work learning about the Human Body, Vision, and the Brain as part of an integrated unit. They learned about how different parts of our bodies work together as a system to interact with our environment.

1st graders are becoming moon watchers! With curious eyes, students are working on moon journal observations, carefully tracking how the moon changes over time through illustrations and notes, using their senses to describe what they see and notice. So much curiosity and wonder!

Atkinson Academy fourth grade just completed a unit on the human body, vision and the brain. This unit was combined with our language arts unit. We focused on new vocabulary with fluency and comprehension work along with the science.
