This piece on the revised NATS en-route charges is a bit misleading. Don't just listen to the airlines. The ave increase in the charge per passenger will be about 75p. How many Ryanair scratchcards does that buy? What price a safe and resilient service? bbc.co.uk/news/business-…

✈️Mike Clancy on the importance of investing in air traffic control: "The CAA have been right to resist pressure from airlines to lower costs even further. This would have led to less investment, fewer ATCs and a less resilient system with more delays for passengers."

Also, note that the air navigation charge is not per passenger, but by aircraft weight and mileage in UK airspace. So, the £40 odd quid Ryanair charges you to take your really heavy ‘carry on’ bag should more than cover the increase.
