🏆 Working Wednesdays ASUA is excited to have our students explore a variety of career options. Arcadia University's Dining Hall has been a wonderful partner for inclusive work-based learning and providing our students with experiences in each area of the worksite. #autism

Our mission is to help our students become engaged participants in the community. That's why we connect activities to real-world scenarios. Here, our students learned about different careers that they could have from the skills learned from their participation in our Greenhouse.

This week's ESY Habitat is Aquatic! Did you know that eel larvae are almost completely transparent? We are already learning so much during ESY!

Our ESY Habitat this week is the Desert! Did you know that Sand Cats can run 25 miles per hour and typically weighs less than 8 pounds? Neither did we! We also learned that they are very cute.

ESY isn't all work! We love providing our students with summer activities that get them moving!

It may be hot out, but we are learning about the Polar Habitat this week at ESY! Did you know that ice in polar climates can be miles thick? Pretty COOL, right?

Our pilot Program GLIMPSE (Gaining Leverage for Inclusive and Meaningful Post Secondary Education) launched this week at Arcadia University. Our students learned to navigate campus, about accommodations and skills for college, and all about residence life!

Our ESY Habitat this week is the Rainforest. Which rainforest animal do you feel like today?

ESY stands for Extended School Year. The purpose of ESY is to help students maintain the progress they made during the school year in order to continue to make progress in the upcoming year. At ASUA, we also add "Have Fun" to our goal! 🤩

Creativity is the name of the game at ASUA! Our related services come up with the most innovative activities to help our students reach their goal. Here a student is working on descriptions during a speech session using the Head Bandz game!

We are over halfway through our 2023 ESY program. Check out a few of the cool activities we have done so far!

This week's ESY Habitat is Grasslands. Grasslands are called such not only for their grass but also because they are too dry to grow a forest but get too much rain to be a desert!

Have we mentioned how amazing our staff is? We love that they participate in our events so our students can practice their skills in real-time!

ASUA's goal is to create a safe learning environment for our students. We love seeing them be themselves and show off their smiles!

ESY allows us the time to take our students into the community for field trips! Check out the awesome places we have been so far this year!

Our final ESY Habitat is the Temperate Forest. The largest forest system in Pennsylvania is the Sproul State Forest in North Central PA!

What is an ESY theme of Habitats without animals?? Our students loved getting to hang out and learn about these local animals!
