Great article on the Student Borrowers Bill of Rights that established standards for the student loan industry so that borrowers have the best chance to pay off their debts. I authored AB 424 this year to build on those protections and bring further accountability to the industry

AB 424 is essential in protecting unrepresented borrowers from predatory debt collection lawsuits. These lawsuits trap borrowers under unaffordable debt for years and disproportionally burdens communities of color with mountains of debt
