Year 3's 2025 so far 😃

There has been a magical moment in year 3. One of our ambitious learners has been taking very good care of her plant she was given at the end of Spring 1 and it has now grown its first bean. Look at how big it is!🤩

Over the last few weeks, Year 3 have been working hard to create locomotives as part of a STEM project. Check out Team Respect's amazing final products! 🚂

Year 3 have worked very hard this half term writing a leaflet about ways to reduce waste at school. Today, we presented our leaflets to the Eco Club and here is our winner!

What a brilliant trip to Bakewell we had, applying our Geography learning about settlements and our Art learning about artist Lowry. We had a lot of fun and BONUS the sun was out!☀️

Team Respect saw some excellent mini-teaching of our Ice cream module, Les glaces, in French. 🍨

In year 3, we explored artifacts to learn about the Anglo-Saxons. 🪙

This week Year 3 have been programming microbits as part of their Digital World D&T project to make an item of clothing or accessory that can keep them safe in the dark. 🤩

Year 3 have been thinking about what layout, font and colours they should use to most successfully make a birthday invitation as part of our Lay It Out lesson in Computing. We also compared different layouts.

Year 3 have had a wonderful start to Summer 2 term however we wanted to recap on the magical moments we had at the end of Summer 1 that we all really enjoyed - Anglo-Saxon day and making posters to find our missing stars!⭐️

This half term in Art, Year 3 have been looking at Viking patterns. We have practiced sketching some before creating a block to print our designs onto paper ready to write our Viking Myth onto.

Year 3 use lots of online platforms to support their learning, a favourite being TT rockstars. These learning apps can be accessed at home as another way to engage with children's learning and get in that extra practice! Keep working hard year 3, you are amazing!

This week we started writing our Thor and Loki Norse God narrative and what a strong start! Year 3 have improved so much since the start of the year. We all look forward to reading your finished pieces. 🤩
