I have mentioned my issues with SENDIASS being funded by LAs before. My concern is that they do not sit alongside families and offer non advice for families. We need honesty around our concerns not further dismissal. Listen to yourself you know your child best.

Any education establishment that focuses on behaviour rather than the young persons underlying emotional dynamics is going to be harmful.Too many focus on the quick fix short-term solution instead of the long-term goal of development. We need to understand what is driving it.🧠🌱

I just spoke to Sky news on our latest research on school exclusions What’s most shocking is the racial injustice with Black Caribbean 2.5x more likely and Romani (Gypsy) Roma and Irish Traveller students 3x more likely to be excluded Story below 👇🏾 news.sky.com/video/record-3…

Can’t tell you how many times this happened to us during the 6 months Kid1 was in health collapse. We spent 1 weekend going to 3 A&Es out of desperation. It triggered a safeguarding response & started focus of Fabricating Illness. Kid1 was so unwell, in unimaginable pain. 🧵

✨Work for some, a profound loss of community for others ~a void much like loosing a home .Remembering Ubuntu recognition that we are all bound together in ways that are invisible to the eye; there is a oneness by sharing ourselves with others, and caring for those around us✨

My voice was mine alone until others said they felt it too. I used the things that make me feel me again.. Wit and gallows humour even to shrink those things that overtook me. Things that made me feel I was sinking I shrunk with wit.

When I started working with children who weren’t fine at school, I was surprised by what parents told me they were told to do by professionals. It didn’t seem right – were they really being told that they should make home less pleasant for their children if they weren’t happy at

ICARS is currently formulating its response to the English government’s “Use of Reasonable Force” consultation — and it shouldn’t take 37 pages… and counting. But when children are being restrained, secluded, isolated, and harmed behind closed doors, silence is not an option.

‘School hasn’t changed! Why are so many more young people unable to attend? Don’t they just have to learn to put up with it?’ I’m often asked all of these questions. So here’s a quick answer. School has changed since most of us over the age of 30 were there. Starting in 2010
