Thanks for the nice commentary on our #offset paper Sophus zu Ermgassen. It's seems the current political climate means we're a long way from offsets resulting in transformational charge. I don't see that changing any time soon, but here's hoping for unexpectedly large charges soon.

This is a fabulous paper and should be required reading for all interested in biodiversity #offsets and #nonetloss #netgain approaches: timescale mismatch between ecological vs political/policy realities = huge risks sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Led by Florence Damiens with Ascelin Gordon

Loved this article in the Guardian Australia, and in particular this plot of actual and projected emissions by country or region. You can instantly see where a country's climate pledge seems feasible. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Super graphic, important analysis by ICCS Mike Clark & colleagues. Shame about the #cheese score, though pizza just about passes muster.

I've just discovered this great interactive infographic unpacking all the drivers and aspects of #globalchange. A great teaching resource, or just to browse yourself. Check it out: ugc.berkeley.edu/what-is-global…

Very important - *the trouble with scientific neutrality* given so little time to make meaningful change Why it is ethical and effective for scientists to now engage in civil disobedience to spur necessary life saving climate action published in nature nature.com/articles/s4155…

Lotteries used as a tiebreaker for #academic #research #funding? I love this idea! This would automatically increase diversity in funded research, reduce bias and assessor workload. Are there any downsides? nature.com/articles/d4158…
