Last week, Teaching Artist Evelyn Hang Yin worked with our students at Visions CCS to create stickers inspired by Tongva environmental caretaking traditions! We can't wait to see how our instructors uplift indigenous ecological knowledge in our partnership with The Autry!

This week in creativity our students went to space and back using watercolors. Last Spring, former Teaching Artist Jovanna Briscoe and Workshop Coordinator Pablo Simental worked with Metropolitan High School students to create diverse scenes from in and out of this world!

This week, Teaching Artist Eddie Ruiz and Workshop Coordinator Moni Perez guided students at Mujeres y Hombres Nobles CCS to complete several projects relating to indigenous artistic and environmental traditions, taking inspiration from The Autry's Waterways exhibition! #art

Level 1 workshops continued at CHS / East LA Skills Center this week with Teaching Artist Eddie Ruiz's lesson on ‘The Art of Allegory’ with MOCA. Eddie encouraged students to explore collective emotional experience through group activities and narrative writing!

This Fall at Metropolitan HS, Teaching Artist Angélica Ruiz and Workshop Coordinator Pablo Simental will explore MOCA exhibits and learn digital art principles using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create Digital Murals that reflect visions for their communities.
