#FlashbackFriday: Did you know? The ceiling of #TheGrand is based on descriptions of the original painting that was added to the ceiling when The Grand Opera House was opened in 1871. It features 8 of the 9 muses of #Greek mythology. Do you know which one is missing?

The ninth muse missing from our ceiling is #Euterpe, the muse of music! The artist believed that Euterpe was represented on the stage by the performers. We think she still deserved some recognition though, so we titled our lounge “The Ninth Muse” and hung up this painting of her.
