New paper to share! Co-authored with Yara Mekawi, PhD and the GTP team, this study takes a strength-based lens to examine the buffering potential of active-coping strategies utilized by Black people in the face of racism to offset psychological symptom severity. #AcademicTwitter
I'm delighted to welcome Dr. Ceci Hinojosa Dr. Cecilia A. Hinojosa to the #gradytraumaproject family! She's a postdoctoral fellow who will be studying 🧠 circuit function underlying stress-related substance use and its modulation by estradiol. She's also a stellar human being.
So excited to announce that I have been awarded an NRSA F31 fellowship for my project, "The impact of exogenous estradiol on fear extinction in healthy young women and those with PTSD." Thank you Jennifer Stevens for all of your support and to all of our collaborators!
Really thankful for the opportunity to share our National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) funded research/work with jayewatson and the Emory School of Medicine team and our community. Also beyond thankful for our amazing participants, my colleagues and our entire team at the #gradytraumaproject.
