Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) is a ’90s gem. John Cusack nails the deadpan hitman, the soundtrack perfectly sets the tone, and the cast brings sharp, darkly funny energy throughout.

Last night’s movie: Big Trouble in Little China (1986) Watched our favorite movie on the big screen at the Arro Theater. American Cinematheque had an encore presentation in 70mm! Last saw it on the big screen more than 20 years ago! Heaven and earth, boys. What can I tell ya?

Drew Struzan has sadly passed away at the age of 78. He was the legendary artist that worked on posters for the original 6 ‘Star Wars’ films, ‘Back to the Future’, ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘The Thing’ & much more.

Last night’s movie: Dead Heat (1988) “A buddy cop action zombie comedy film”! Treat Williams & Joe Piscopo are LAPD detectives investigating reanimated bodies involved in violent armed robberies when one of them gets killed & brought back. Fun premise, Treat is always great.

Last night’s 2nd movie: Phantasm RaVager (2016) A bit confusing if you’re not familiar with the series, then again, why would you watch Part 5 first?! This feels like a series of shorts combined. Good seeing Reggie, Mike, & Jody reunited for one final showdown vs The Tall Man!

Last night’s movie: I Saw the TV Glow (2024) Teens bond over a supernatural TV show, which leads them to question life. Not a traditional horror film, but more of a coming-of-age story about anxiety & confusion of adolescence, identity & sexuality, which is horrific for some.

Randomly thought about Deadstream. Think I’m due for a rewatch. Very funny concept and I feel like more people need to see this. Pass it along!
