It’s comforting to see the NIH make some degree of change. Though not the $70k originally asked, it will help. My only concern is what the state of cost of living will be in the projected 3-5yrs until stipend incrementally increase.

Please share! We are trying to reach patients with painful diabetic neuropathy for enrollment in our NIH-funded clinical trial that is now underway, testing neuromodulation and our diagnostic device. Patients are compensated. With Ohio State Neurosurgery Residency Brian Dalm.

Two big announcements for the Argall home! 1. Our son, Aiden, arrived last week weighing 8lbs 6oz! He’s perfect and we’re so lucky. 2. I found out the same day that I officially received the AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship!

I can not wrap my head around the disconnect I see between people wanting better treatments and cures and simultaneously being so deeply anti-science….

Everything feels weird and uncertain, and I can only imagine how trainees feel right now… so are some things mentors can do to support mentees during these challenging times:

Fluoridated water at 0.7 ppm (parts per million) is NOT a neurotoxin. It DOES improve dental health. Lead IS neurotoxic at 0.05 ppm in kids. Good thing RFK Jr cut the CDC lead poisoning prevention team & wants to ban fluoride. We are gonna be so much healthier, right? 🙄

The decimation of American biomedical science by RFK, doge, et al. will go down as possibly the dumbest self-own in political history.

25 years ago, I came to Stanford on a J1 visa and worked so hard to be worthy of that privilege. Today, I lead Immunology at Mount Sinai and I am the one who feel privileged when brilliant international students chose to join us.

This is a highly informative, well-researched piece on 2500 NIH grants that were terminated or delayed (i.e. frozen) under the current administration and the deleterious impact to the study and prevention of chronic and infectious diseases. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

I had the privilege of presenting my work at #bcvs2025 in Baltimore officially as an #AHA postdoc fellow. Amazing talks during ACS on Tuesday, met new colleagues and reconnected with old ones. Looking forward to this next year of science in Mingtao Zhao PhD @ NCH/OSU lab at #NCH!
