Took a little walk this morning to clear the Xmas cobwebs..and to remember my Dad who passed away 2yrs ago today. Spotted Y Wyddfa peaking out from above the lower slopes of Moel Eilio.

Dipyn o hanes.. An evocative pic of Parlwr du (Point of Ayr) colliery. The last pit In the north Wales coalfield, closed in 1996.. I only know of 2 distant relations that worked there..2nd cousins of my Taid. Robert Parry Evans and his brother Edward.

My grandfather taught me chess 50 years ago, and he was probably only a page ahead in the rule book. Now I've not played much since then, but I'm sure that isn't a checkmate. Rook back next to King..??
