“Well, I concede defeat Karina.” Jill let out a chuckle as she sat back in her seat, closing her eyes and shutting her mouth.

“I’ll get you for that.” Jill mumbled under her breath, the woman was… a pain in her ass.

“Yeah, pretty much. I’m a simple woman with simplistic needs.” Jill replied, her eyes still closed, the flight had been pleasant, with very little turbulence. Which she was grateful for.

“Mm, because we had to be subtle. Not that you know what that word means.” Jill raised an eyebrow at the younger woman without opening her eyes.

“You could, but then you would be getting that exorbitant salary that you are used to getting now, would you now hmm?” Jill still hadn’t opened her eyes, hands clasped and resting in her lap.

“If I told you we have first class seats on our next flight would you forgive me?” Jill finally opened her eyes and looked up at the younger woman. The next flight was six and a half hours, which was still reasonably long.

“Good, because I have booked first class seats for the next flight.” Jill gave Karina a kind smile. “You can even indulge in a few drinks.”

“It is completely understandable, I wasn’t keen on economy for such a long flight, however the big boss insisted on it. I paid for the next flights upgrade while you were sleeping. Since we don’t have to keep a low profile, you deserve to be comfortable.” Jill replied.

“We will, and then you can go home and get some much needed rest. Would you like a few days off when we get back? I would happy to organise that with Emily.” Jill rubbed her thumb gently back and forth where it was sitting. “I think you really need some time to unwind.”

“Careful I might like that.” Jill winked, the older woman was happy that Karina had something to look forward to. “Have to do the best by our resident clairvoyant who has helped us solve so many difficult cases.”

“First date hmm? Does that include ordering in and relaxing in the hotel together? Because I would love to take you out to dinner, however I may end up fighting someone if I go out in public tonight.” Jill almost visibly recoiled at the thought.

“Platonically is definitely something I can deal with.” Jill replied, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Really though, I could do with simply cuddling up to someone. It has been such a long time and I really do enjoy your company.”
