Earlier this week, I was walking with clients through Bois Fazone/Bastogne, where countless WWII foxholes can still be found. It's a place where hardly any other tour guides go. I even found a small piece of a coffee sachet there, used by a GI around 15 Januari 1945. 😍

On 7 January 1945, during the attack on Goronne, two tiger tanks where spotted just outside the village, heading toward Menil. Vandervoort (pic right) and his men of the 505th attacked the Tiger tanks. He got badly wounded in his face and torso by mortar fire, losing his left eye

Yesterday I guided a family of a 328thIR/26thID veteran around in the area of Eschdorf/Luxemburg. The veteran was captured on 25 December 1944 by German troops and became POW till the end of the war.

Yesterday we visited the former campsite of #Hirzenhain. It is completly fenced. But on the fence side we found several items, like the piece of a German gasmask on the exact spot where the SS lager used to be. 😱 #research

Yesterday we finished our research in Hirzenhain with great result: we were allowed to visit the campsite and could get in the watertower where 44 women were held for two days and later were brutally executed. Deep respect for how Hirzenhain is commemorating them.
