Voter outreach in Appalachia is vital in securing the nation’s future. We know from studies that areas w/ the highest poverty rates also have the lowest levels of civic engagement. There is power in voting, speaking w/ electeds, & activism in community. & that’s our mission.

We ran the biggest c(3) direct voter contact campaign in Kentucky this year. We directly contacted over 40,000 young (18-40), rural voters in a campaign across ALL 40 Appalachian counties in Eastern Kentucky encouraging them to vote!

Reflecting on the results in KY from earlier this week I want to talk about civic engagement generally. Appalachians for Appalachia (Appalachians for Appalachia) was the ONLY c(3) org to run a campaign in all 40 Appalachian counties, directly reaching around 40,000 18-40 year-old rural voters.

.Josh Stein’s 1st TV ad is all Mark Robinson’s own words. Devastating. “You can’t have an abortion in North Carolina for any reason.'” “It makes no difference to me...how that child ended up in that womb.” “It’s not your body anymore.” #ncpol

If you’re okay with bars, then you’re supportive of safe consumption sites. If you’re okay with cannabis legalization, you’re supportive of safe supply. The substance shouldn’t matter. Harm reduction is harm reduction and all drug users should be treated equitably.
