In observance of #nationalmentoringmonth, we are highlighting a few of the incredible mentors in AlbanyPark Community’s Volta Elementary Mentoring Program. Learn more about Tony Rodriguez, a husband, father and Real Estate Broker who lives, works and volunteers in the Albany Park area.

It’s estimated that over 8.5 million young men in the U.S. do not have a caring adult or strong role model in their lives. AlbanyPark Community’s new mentoring program is working hard to change that. Meet Saul Marchan, a dedicated husband, father, mentor and proud owner of Blu Cleaning.

A study by BigBrothersBigSisters found that after 18 months of counseling youth were less likely to use drugs, alcohol, skip school and get involved in violence. Mentors like Phil Rapisardo in our Volta Elementary Mentoring Program are working hard to support our neighborhood youth.

Update! This Wednesday’s 33rd Ward Aldermanic Candidate Forum at Bateman Elementary School has been rescheduled. The forum will take place next Thursday, Feb. 7th at 7:00pm.

In response to school closings due to the extreme weather, parks will be offering drop-in programs for kids TOMORROW from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at park locations citywide. Register your child at a park near you at chicagoparkdistrict.com.
