Still 360+ Bar-tailed Godwit & 420+ Knot @ Seaforth NR today (all in winter plumage), all the Redshank have gone and just a handful of Dunlin hanging on. Common Tern were very noisy and the predator fence is helping the Canada’s 😂

A morning bird surveying Dyson Farming Roxholme, Lincs. First impressions are of an open landscape, but the secret to this site are the mature/wide herb rich margins; 4pr breeding Grey Partridge, 10 singing Corn Buntings, Yellowhammer, Skylark, Linnet and a lone male Peregrine….

I check 78 of my Lake District nestboxes yesterday and had Pied Fly in 15. I recorded my 1st Pied Fly on 30th Apr and by 31st May 3 broods were ready for ringing, 11 had chick’s too small to ring and one was still on eggs… (Also BT 26, GT 6, NH 1 and Empty 30) Cumbria Bird Club

16/03/25 In Skiddaw Forest to visit Cumbria Wildlife Trust 3,000 acres for peatland & temperate rainforest restoration. A rare & transformative opportunity for upland recovery! Sadly, the motorbikes on Great Calva, damaging the fragile habitat, clearly hadn’t got the message!
