S is for #Survivorship. Even once cancer treatment has finished, children still face an array of challenges. This can include psychological effects such as depression/anxiety, neurocognitive effects such as learning disabilities and memory loss, and physical effects.

It’s a no brainer that the T in the A-Z of ANZCHOG would be for Trials! ANZCHOG is the national Cancer Cooperative Trials Group (CCTG) for childhood cancer. We actively work with international trial consortia to ensure AU & NZ children can access the latest promising treatments.

U is for Ultrasound 🏥 Ultrasounds can be used to detect lumps, masses or tumours in children. It’s commonly used to find the best biopsy site at diagnosis, however it can also be used with other scans to assess the cancer’s response to treatment. #ANZCHOG #ChildhoodCancer

Y is for Young Adults! The definition of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) varies however it is commonly defined as people aged between 15-24. Around 4 AYAs are diagnosed with cancer each day in AU & NZ & the most common diagnosis is Hodgkin Lymphoma. #AdolescentCancer #AYA
