Interesting and helpful contribution to the "AI in Education" debate and a must read for policymakers and those in senior leadership roles in our respective UK schooling systems...... curriculumredesign.org/wp-content/upl…

Thanks for posting this Pasi - the stats are both instructional and telling! It is interesting how the construct of "belonging" is becoming a means by which we can have another type of conversation about inclusive practice.

This is a really helpful contribution to developing inclusive practice in schools generally and secondary phase establishments in particular. A must read for those involved in this important work across the UK. #puttingchildrenfirst #excellencethroughequity

Such a privilege to spend this morning with Board members of the Walsall Children and Young People Strategic Alliance. Insightful discussion, passionate challenge & total commitment to creating a wellbeing system based on equity for all enabled new collective solutions to emerge.

The new government must find a way of coordinating educational provision at the local level in order to reduce exclusions and segregation of learners. Our recent report on area partnerships offers a way forward.

Last two days spent with LA colleagues and agency partners in Lewisham considering the opportunities for innovation and change when working with families as a wave 2 Pathfinder. Excellent, insightful discussions putting families first and moving away from service-centric practice

"The SEND system is broken" This is the opening sentence in the latest report on the dysfunctional SEND system in England from the ISOS Partnership on behalf of the LGA and CNN. The report calls for a national debate for transformation. So let's stop tinkering and develop equity!

adcs.org.uk/a-culture-that… Really helpful blog this week from Jane Moore reminding us that creating an organisational/systemic culture of belonging is the building block of achieving inclusive practice.

Today marks the launch of the Raising Rochdale Children and Young People’s Plan and related film. It was my privilege to play a part in this work, which started with Headteachers, MAT CEO’s and the LA talking about collaborative advantage and common moral purpose. It’s not over

Many thanks to The Staff College for publishing the story of Raising Rochdale. Often in our work we are too busy "doing" to record the work of dedicated and passionate colleagues on system change. The new "Tales from the Field" series aims to put this right! thestaffcollege.uk/publications/t…

Special Educational Needs system is financially ‘unsustainable’ says the NAO today. What on earth have we created since the 1981 Education Act! Surely the time has come for a complete system rethink which ceases to pathologist difference and builds systemic inclusive practice.

Great to see the new focus on inclusion by Bridget Phillipson and Ofsted . However, inclusion must not be seen a separate national policy. Rather, it should be viewed as a principle that informs all policies. See: fabians4education.edublogs.org/2024/04/23/mak…

The Guardian withdrawal from X has prompted me to conclude that it's time for me to cease "tweeting". Small though my presence on this medium is, I can't continue to be part of a platform which has so radically changed its value set/moderation of content etc. LinkedIn/Threads!

This article is an important contribution to the growing movement for educational reform. Despite the efforts of practitioners, many learners are being left behind or left out. Manchester Institute of Education (MIE) Policy@Manchester Andrew Howes blog.policy.manchester.ac.uk/posts/2024/09/…
