Had the absolutely best time during the 4th Lofoten Immunology workshop! Met so many inspiring people, and enjoyed the beautiful nature in Lofoten. Being able to present my PhD project was a surreal experience. Big thanks to Anne Spurkland and hear team for organizing this!

Standard grants should be 5 years. Tenure track should be 7 years. Expectations have gone up so much, lower is just unrealistic. Short grant cycles are bad for science, and bad for scientists, just increasing the pressure and tension while reducing creativity and reproducibility

Such a great read! It really shows how everyday metaphors can bridge the gap between scientists and non-expert public. Scientists need to connect with everyone, otherwise science would just be fantasy talesđŸ€” PD: Those cakes look amazing! đŸ€€

I can never understand how people don’t get how silly it is when they say things like “My grandparents survived childhood measles so it’s not a big deal” Well, no shit - if your grandparents didn’t survive measles, you wouldn’t exist Every person existing has a full set of

So this is not a problem...But we can't even buy an NIH researcher a cup of coffee because of conflicts of interest!? The hypocrisy is insane. Investigations into universities, but at the White House all gifts and straight up crypto-bribes are fine. WTF nytimes.com/2025/05/11/us/
