You've probably heard people say that DTC businesses are bad cash businesses. Many operators badly misunderstand this when they start out. I certainly did. I've been working hard to get a better understanding of it and wrap my head around why and how. Here's what I've learned

Internet money is the best kind of money. Prove me wrong.

Work hack: Start your day with a work block focused on activities with long-lasting effects. Examples: system creation, team training, process optimization. The rest is secondary.

This really is the new gold rush. Kids make more from their bedrooms than companies with offices and 20+ employees.

One of the biggest mistakes I see over and over. People prioritizing tactics over strategy. Get your big picture down and don't worry so much about the small things. What you do > how you do it.

The one thing most successful people have in common... Hint: it's not being super smart. It's that they're doers before anything else. Other things like intelligence are just multipliers of your actions. Do first, think later if you're starting out.

Low employee churn is the most underrated thing I don't see enough focusing on. How can you scale if your base is constantly crumbling underneath you? I might need to write a thread about this...

Lifehack: Understand what you're naturally good at and focus your work around that. Just because someone is successful doing X, doesn't mean you have to follow suit.

Complacency really IS the biggest killer. As soon as you slow down & get comfortable you're losing. Good thing self-awareness exists.

Buying a Rolex at 21 is cool. Being able to travel the world at 21 is cool. Being able to splurge on designers at 21 is cool. But nothing beats being able to give back to your parents.
