Sadly it is June 2022 and COVID meds are still being underused or used incorrectly. To clarify: Eligibility for paxlovid is determined by risk factors, NOT by severity of disease. Evusheld used to prevent COVID-19 in immunocompromised (many) or vax-allergic people (few).

Novel COVID variants are likely arising from immunocompromised people. ~2-3% of the population is immunocompromised. ~100% of the population is impacted by novel variants. We need to invest in preventing infection in immunocompromised people — globally.
