Our 'Decolonising Development Geographies' Workshop was off to a great start this morning, with a fantastic keynote by Nikita Sud 🙌 Nikita spoke about the frontierisation of the energy transition in Rempang, Indonesia, highlighting how frontiers are processes, not facts 💡

The morning of our Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) 'Decolonising Development Geographies' workshop concluded with participants discussing what #decolonising means to them, in research, teaching and wider practice, and what the challenges and tensions are of this endeavour in #development #geographies

We're now hearing a fantastic variety of Latin American Approaches to Decolonising Development Geographies from Brazil, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. It's a great line-up of speakers brought together by our Latin American Geographies-UK colleagues Aline Fernandes Barata Pietra Cepero Rua Perez

Our second session started with some fun games to stimulate discussion on theatre in participatory action research led by the fantastic Prof Angelo Miramonti 🙌 Angelo is using theatre as a decolonial method and way for communities to assess policies and seed collective action💡
