On my way to Jinja today, Maama Janet and I stopped in Nyenga, Buikwe District and interacted with the wananchi, many of whom were children. It was disturbing to find out that many of these children are not in school because teachers have expelled them due to nonpayment of fees.

I spent the day at the Uganda Military Academy in Kabamba, commissioning 203 officer cadets. These cadets included those who completed a degree from Makerere University alongside their training, those who finished the officer course, and professionals like engineers and doctors

The significance of this monument in Kabamba: The Revolutionary Yoweri K Museveni began a peoples’ protracted war that, many years later, would usher in the peace we enjoy today, which is the bedrock for society to thrive. #PeaceProgressProsperity
