Artificial lawns should be banned. In the face of a biodiversity crisis, we should be creating habitats, not covering our gardens in ugly plastic where no life can exist. They're non-recyclable, dangerous to pets, the negative list goes on... please sign!! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/6331โ€ฆ

Bird/bioacoustics folks. I had students use Merlin to analyze ARU data this year--occupancy data. I'm wondering whether there's any advantage to also trying BirdNet. Site is in Pennsylvania. Would using Merlin rather than BirdNet be frowned upon by manuscript reviewers.

My wife and I left graduate school 23 years ago with a combined total of $70,000 debt. Since then we've made $500 monthly payments for 23 years ($120,000+). Today, we still owe $60,000. Explain to me again why student loan debt shouldn't be cancelled.
