BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled today that cities can punish unhoused people for sleeping in public, even if they have nowhere else to go.  We cannot arrest our way out of homelessness.

BREAKING: In a huge victory for Big Business, the Supreme Court has overturned 40 years of precedent and ended "Chevron doctrine". The ruling is a power grab for corporate interests and could upend countless health, climate, and food safety regulations.

This partisan Supreme Court just shredded another precedent, overturning the Chevron decision and weakening our ability to combat the climate crisis, hold corporations accountable, and much more. Our people and our planet will feel the consequences.

This guy also just decided experts shouldn't be the ones to interpret what statutes about their expertise mean. I'm also not a lawyer but it has seemed to me good lawyers/judges spend a lot of time getting the facts of the case right. I'm saying he is especially bad at his job.

I always heard it was the executive branches job to enforce laws. Not the judicial branch.

The Supreme Court gave itself the power to pick and choose which rules big corporations should have to follow, no matter the consequences for our families. It's not the Court's job to legislate from the bench. This is a disturbing power grab that's going to put Nevadans at risk.

Appellate lawyers, judges, and the judges interns all think very highly of themselves but they are the people in the world with the least subject matter knowledge and IMO the idea that America needs to empower them more is laughable.

Sitting is not a crime. Resting is not a crime. Sleeping is not a crime. Camping is not a crime. Being poor is not a crime. Needing help is not a crime. Homelessness is not a crime, it’s a policy failure.

SCOTUS ruled that criminalizing unhoused folks for sleeping outside isn't cruel and unusual punishment. Cities aren't building enough housing or investing in the resources to end homelessness. Criminalization has become their solution. This ruling will have huge consequences.

There is a faction in U.S. who want to do whatever, whenever regardless of impacts on others. All while forcing others to live by their religious/moral beliefs. This court, majority Rep. appointed, is squarely on their side. This is not a court of law, it is a court of faction.

Did you know? When SCOTUS said in 1937 that the Social Security Act was unconstitutional, President Roosevelt didn’t ask people to vote harder in the next election, he told the Supreme Court he’d add more justices until they backed off, which they did. — We can still do that.

I see a lot of national "consultants" and talking heads calling for Biden to step out of race. The people I know who are on the ground working hard everyday as organizers and activists and electeds in the D party are standing squarely behind the President. That's telling to me.

This is great. Next five minutes of this needs to be the list of things Biden has done to get America back up after the Pandemic and Trump. Which I think is a compelling narrative. Let Trump implode while reminding us how competent and effecrive Biden has been.

The wealthy and corporations have never been on our side. They know regardless of outcome they are going to win.
