Dear COVID researchers, while we can’t seem to come to a consensus on what to call the ancestral strain (vaccine, WA-1, Wu-1, etc). Can we at least agree that it is NOT “wild-type?” All the circulating variants are wild-type. #virology #IDTwitter Stuart Ray William Werbel MD PhD
