Love these examples from Dunelm and Travis Perkins. With hybrid working arguably the biggest change programme internal communicators will ever face, building belonging and creating emotional connections is absolutely key. Prioritise people, not policy and process.

In "high-control" workplaces, information gets pushed up to authority: senior leaders make decisions on the basis of information. In organisations that enable their people this is flipped: decision-making authority is pushed down to those with the information. By Sketchplanations

This picture for me sums up the whole idea and importance of #belonging. A culture of belonging leads to growth and innovation. It's really this simple. #RPSIandD #inclusion #Diversity #Belonging Quote Tweet

I'm doing a lot of thinking about the spread and scale of change currently & how we move from a mindset of "rolling out" pilot projects to enabling change in systematic ways though people in complex systems. So I appreciated this graphic via @LouWaters_QI & Amar Shah

All the red flag 🚩 Tweets are making me smile. Hard to choose just one! Common internal comms red flags I see: Comms strategy not aligned with biz strategy. IC team can’t articulate what IC is (and isn’t) or purpose of channels. Zero measurement, or only output focused.

Matrix working: great in principle but research shows it often fails in practice. Ways to make your matrix work inc: 1) Relaunch the team 2) Appoint a DRI (directly responsible individual) 3) Get leaders talking 4) Eliminate the unnecessary gallup.com/workplace/3549… V Bob Sutton

"Hybrid working isn’t about rules about two days here and three days there. It’s not about the location of where we work either really. It’s about a need to fundamentally change how we think about work." #internalcomms #hybridworking #strategy redefiningcomms.com/the-pandemic-r…
