A unique image from Ancient Egypt. Dated to the 19th dynasty this ostracon depicts a woman with a lute in a very unusual perspective. This goes to prove that ancient artists were not limited by their imagination, but by strict art conventions which had very specific functions

Curios detail on this relief of the royal family. The grid is visible - usually a sign of unfinished work.Yet remnants of paint are all over the place.Maybe the grid used to be covered by a “background color”,which means this thing originally looked nothing like it does today

This relief was used on #CastlevaniaNocturne Season 2 for wall decorations of the Temple of Sekhmet. Find out about it and other real Ancient Egyptian stuff in my short video youtu.be/-VMuUk-kcpU?si

Philae 120 years apart. Painting by Henry Roderick Newman and a modern photo. I wish we had more of such elaborate color paintings. Real window into the past. #ancientegypt #Philae

The “enigmatic birdman” as some trash pseudo-history accounts call him online. In reality - its a rare symbol, but nothing enigmatic. Its explained by the word preceding it in the inscription. “pS” or vocalize it as “pesh” if you like. Means “extend”/“spread over”

Polymorphic/pantheistic Bes. This 26th dynasty stela is overflowing with symbolism
. All those divine and animal power symbols, each with a different benevolent aspect, all combined. This is essentially a protector super hero, himself protected by that dome of scorpion tails.

I personally believe Khafre’s pyramid does not contain anything like the Grand Gallery, simply because it was unnecessary. Im convinced the Grand Gallery is a totally utilitarian implement required to build the King’s Chamber at such height, a feature not present in Khafre’s.

Glad they used proper hieroglyphs here and not some random gibberish. This spells the name of the god Sutekh, also known as Set

This is not even a “Sumerian tablet”. This is a Neo-Assyrian orthostat. Like around 630 BC. And the context of it is well known. The amount of bullshit online these days is just staggering.

If an actual person sees this post - genuine question. Why do you still use social media? Didnt it become way less ‘social’ lately? Because of the algorithms i hardly even see posts from people i care about and vice versa. Its more of a competition against engagement bots nowadays

There is no separate “you” that watches something unfold. “You” are “your body” - every part of it including the brain. The brain is a data processing machine that reacts to the outside and inside stimuli and can reconfigure itself based on internal modeling of reality of those

Since this nonsense seems to be making major rounds, here’s the actual context. This relief depicts prisoners being marched through wilderness by soldiers. The little figure is a child. This is NOT about Giants and it becomes much more evident when you look at the whole relief.
