A very strange thing happening in the race for San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee: A member of the Dems United slate, backed by the moderate establishment, includes a candidate (Maureen Freschet) who likes Donald Trump and engages in alt-right conspiracy theories!

Other things of note: Freschet was a former councilmember in San Mateo, before resigning after it came to light that she no longer lived in the city. The Dems United Slate is backed by her former colleague, Assemblymember Diane Papan.

In addition to 2020 election denialism, Freschet also appears to dabble in anti-vax conspiracy theories.

I'm all for the Democratic Party being a big tent. But the tent shouldn't include Trumpers and alt-right conspiracy theorists! Sorry!

Remember when Papan attacked Former Mayor Giselle Hale as "not a real Democrat" because her voter registration accidentally got changed to NPP when she changed her name, and because she auditioned for the Apprentice in her 20s? Now Papan is endorsing an election denying Trumper?
